The COVID-19 pandemic has made the year of 2020 incredibly challenging for people all over the globe. With lockdowns and restrictions imposed to control the spread of this virus, many of us have been separated from loved ones and have had to get used to an entirely new way of life. This reality is especially true for so many children facing serious illness over the Christmas period.
Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity helps to provide specialist care and support for children living with complex and life-threatening conditions. Sadly, the pandemic has seriously impacted the charity sector, with many non-profits struggling to maintain their services due to fewer fundraising opportunities. GCHC, which relies entirely on donations from the public to run its operations, has felt the pinch because of COVID’s impact. As Christmas approaches, the services and support they provide children and their families is especially crucial and it’s donations from folks like you that make all the difference.
By purchasing one of our Festive Mystery Boxes, our customers are helping to provide state of the art medical equipment, logistical support for staff and volunteers, new toys and equipment for children’s playrooms and vital family support services. This money will also go towards important research, including the Office For Rare Conditions, the only project of it’s kind in Scotland dedicated to improving our understanding and treatment of medical conditions which often lack funding due to their rarity in the general population.
We would like to share our deepest gratitude to all of our heroic customers who have helped to support this amazing cause by buying our Festive Mystery Boxes. We would also like to thank the heroes who have sponsored a Mystery Box, from which ALL proceeds go to children in need of a loving Christmas. Heroes truly are real!
